The yearly unlimited plan is the best value, especially when the current promotion includes the 2nd year free. The service features are probably the most comprehensive offered in a VOIP service today including call blocking, music on hold, click2call, voicemail online and by email, 3 way calling, speed dial and many more. Phone Power is also one of the few VOIP services that allows you to use your own phone adapter if it's compatible with their service. Business services start at $39.95 monthly are equally full featured and offer PBX style hosted phone service offering multiple features including single and multiple line options, toll-free numbers, auto-attendant and much more. Technical support is US based and responsive unlike many other VOIP services we've reviewed. Highly recommended.

Packet 8 provides a great service, including one of the only unlimited video phone services available. Additional virtual and toll free lines are reasonable at $4.95 per month. Their business plan provides for a PBX style system, with features that rival most other business phone systems. Equipment (router) is included for the residential plan, and video and business phones are additional and reasonably priced.  Additional equipment is available ala carte including fax and video. Excellent PC based all-around service. And the most recent version (3.5) has added video, call transfer, video snapshots and a new interface as well… free of course. Software is state of the art, intuitive and easy to use. Now offering an unlimited calling plan to any number in the US or Canada for $29.95 a year or $8.85 per quarter. Voicemail is particularly good - no downloading necessary. Skype is a free download, only the optional Skype In and Skype Out services are paid options. Great for work at home telecommuters, home business owners and those that want to stay in touch with friends and family world-wide for free (if members) or at a very low cost (about 2 cents p/min). USB handset, phones and cordless phones are now readily available. Overall Skype is an excellent communications option.

Free phone adapter (includes router) if you order direct (recommended). Lacks conference calling, 3 way calling is supported. Has activation fee - to avoid it try Lingo or DLinkVoIP.
